Minerals Make Life: “Made in America” Drives Need for More American Mined Minerals

Published on June 4, 2015

Minerals and SecurityHal Quinn, President and CEO of the National Mining Association, recently ran an opinion piece in Roll Call wherein he talked about America’s need to increase our mining of minerals in order to meet the rising demands of “Made in America” products.  In the article, he goes on to discuss our need to update the inefficient and duplicative permitting process for mining minerals.  Currently, the U.S. has one of the longest permitting processes in the world for mining projects.  Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) has sponsored a bill which aims to take care of these issues.

Minerals Make Life recapped the Roll Call piece on their blog last week.  To read that post in its entirety, click here.  You can also read the original opinion piece by Hal Quinn in Roll Call.
